6 things to know about the Raw Cacao & Honey Cleanse and Polish Bar 60g:
- It’s a two-in-one (lazy skincare lovers, rejoice). A creamy lather cleanses while fine bamboo granules gently buff away the dry, dull surface skin that makes a complexion look tired. No harsh grit, no squeaky, stripped feeling.
- The cacao has come a looooong way to meet our honey. From one wild island rainforest near the equator to another in the Southern Ocean, joined by a whole lot of blue, our Pacific neighbours’ cacao has travelled all the way from Guadalcanal in the Solomon Islands to meet our Tasmanian Leatherwood honey. This is pure, premium ceremonial cacao — a beautiful single-origin, hand-sorted blend of Criollo and Trinitario beans sourced from more than 200 family farms across the Solomon Islands, many of them run by women.
For the farmers who grow it, cacao is about so much more than a crop. It provides a livelihood while helping preserve traditional farming practices, cultural heritage and the deep connection between people, community and the land.
The company works with farmers across Guadalcanal, Isabel, Makira, Temotu and the Western Province, supporting sustainable farming without chemical pesticides or fertilisers. We are particularly proud to support women farmers and local communities. By sourcing locally and encouraging sustainable cultivation, this beautiful cacao helps support local economies, protect biodiversity and preserve generations of traditional knowledge.
So when this exceptional cacao meets our rare Tasmanian Leatherwood honey, it brings with it a story — a story of two island homes, the people who care for them, and a more thoughtful way of growing and making beautiful things.
From the Solomon Islands to Tasmania. From their rainforest to our apiaries. Our Pacific neighbours’ cacao, meet Tasmanian Leatherwood honey.
- It’s not just a pretty colour. Cacao is naturally rich in antioxidant polyphenols, which is why we went for real beans rather than a chocolate fragrance. Cacao powder gives the bar its deep, velvety colour and cacao absolute adds that irresistible aroma. (Yes, it smells like dessert. No, you can’t eat it. Sorry.)
- It’s creamier than a polishing bar has any right to be. Shea butter, beeswax and a blend of calendula-infused olive, golden camelina, castor and moringa oils make the lather rich and comfy, with oat flour, glycerin and honey rounding it out. Your face comes out feeling soft, not squeaky.
- The ritual is ridiculously simple: Polish. Nourish. Glow. Polish with the bar in the shower. Nourish with a little Beauty and the Bees Face & Multi-Use Moisture Cream on slightly damp skin (freshly polished skin is a beautifully smooth canvas for it). Glow. That’s it. That’s the routine.
- We’ve been making things this way since 1993. By hand, from scratch, in small batches in Hobart, without adding another plastic bottle to your bathroom shelf.
