Traditional Soap Shampoo Bars

Our traditional bars (the “trads”) are the originals, the golden oldies, the cult classics. They’re brimming with Tassie edibles: olive oil, honey, seaweed, plant butters, clays, spices and craft beer. They’re simple. They’re alchemical. They have stacks of loyal adherents who beg us never to change the formula or pull them from the shelves. Ever. All time customer favourites include this spicy specimen and our famous frizz calming mud cube.

For optimal results for first time shampoo bar users or with hard water, we recommend our pH Balanced Shampoo Bars. For guaranteed results in all water types.

NOTE: Our Mod (Honeycomb) and Trad (Soap shampoo) bars are distinctly different and not interchangeable. If you love Mod, Trad soap bars won't work the same way. Traditional soap shampoo bars may need a transition/adjustment period or give mixed results, especially in hard water.

🐝  What’s the difference between our pH balanced and traditional shampoo bars, you ask?

So, should you go mod or trad?

Look, we’re totally enamoured with our new pH balanced bars and encourage everyone to try them at least once (because once is all you need to fall head over lashes). But if you’re a long term customer and love our classic bars bigtime, why fix something that ain’t broke?

🐝 Will a shampoo bar work for my hair type?

Yes, Beauty and the Bees shampoo bars are formulated to work for all hair types, whether you have fine, thick, curly, or straight hair.

🐝 Do you have something for psoriasis/ eczema?

Our products are not medicated. However, we have many customers who use our products successfully without aggravating their psoriasis, eczema, contact dermatitis. If you have soft water, we recommend the Hemp Seed Shampoo as it's extra gentle (uncoloured, unscented). You may like to check out the fragrance-free products here

🐝 Can I use a shampoo bar on colour-treated hair?

Yes, these bars are pH balanced, extremely gentle and moisturising, and do not strip the colour.

🐝  Are shampoo bars more expensive than liquid shampoo?

Not at all! Beauty and the Bees shampoo bar can replace 3-4 bottles of liquid shampoo. They are also more concentrated than liquid shampoo, so a little goes a long way.

🐝 How do I store a shampoo bar to make it last longer?

Yes, Beauty and the Bees shampoo bars are just as effective at cleaning your hair as liquid shampoo. They are also free of harsh chemicals that can strip your hair of its natural oils, leaving it healthy and nourished.

🐝 Can I buy this in stores around Australia? 🐝

We have a store in Salamanca Place in Hobart but concentrate online (We've been online for 30 years now!) as the high quality and freshness of our products don’t lend themselves to mass distribution 🤗
