What Makes Our Creams Different
Made concentrated, on purpose
Most moisturisers arrive already around 90% water, fillers and emulsifiers. Their texture is decided in the factory, long before the jar reaches you.
Our rich beeswax creams are made, on purpose, as super-concentrated moisturisers. More nourishing plant oils, Leatherwood beeswax and honey than water.
Because the cream arrives concentrated, it is ready to be softened and shaped in the palm of your hand, thinned to a summer-light lotion or kept rich for a winter's night.

From My Grandmother to You

The idea of a simple, concentrated cream you finish yourself is very, very old.
Our creams are a nod to Galen of Pergamon, the Roman-era physician whose original cold cream, built on beeswax, olive oil and rosewater, dates back nearly two thousand years.
They are also a nod to founder Jill's grandmother, a wise, pragmatic woman who made her own version of that recipe. She found it in a library book, tore out the page, took it home, and whipped it up in the same mixing bowl she used for her life-changing sponge cake.
When Jill formulated our trio of creams, she saw no reason to mess with what wasn't broken. She simply added even more skin-loving oils like wheatgerm and castor, staying true to its founding idea: simple, natural, and made to last.
Your Five-Step Ritual
Beautifully simple to make your own. Five small steps, a pea-sized amount and a mist are all it takes.
1. Mist your face
A light mist leaves skin pleasantly damp. This step matters whether you are customising your cream or using it just the way it is. A concentrated cream loves a little water to work with, and so does your skin. Leatherwood beeswax softens the skin, helps draw in moisture and forms a light, breathable layer all at once, which is why we mist first: freshly misted, damp skin gives the cream something to seal in, so your face feels comfortable rather than tight.
2. Start small
A pea-sized amount of cream in your palm. It goes a long way.
3. Add mist
Into the cream in your hand, spritz our Rosewater Flowerpetal Toning Mist, or a few drops of water.
4. Work it
Blend cream to the texture you like. Work the cream with your fingers, or with the little cornstarch spoon you received with your order.
5. Smooth on
Press cream over damp skin. It settles like soft cashmere.
